Getting "Setting not available / not allowed to set it" in Google?
  • 2-Step Verification must be ON: Google disables App Passwords if 2-Step Verification is off. First go to Google Security Settings and turn 2-Step Verification ON.
  • College / Institutional Email limitation: If you are logged into a college or organization Google account (e.g., @pccoepune.org), the IT administrator may have blocked App Passwords. Solution: Use a standard personal or official Gmail address (ending in @gmail.com).

Storage Architecture:
  • Local Hard Drive: All records are saved permanently on your disk in PCET_Bank/users_credentials.json, google_drive_config.json, and Storage/.
  • Vercel Cloud (pcet.vercel.app): Serverless containers use temporary storage. Download backups for offline safe-keeping, and set SMTP_EMAIL / SMTP_PASSWORD in your Vercel Project Environment Variables so your 16-digit passcode stays permanently fixed.
Google Drive & Google Sheets Cloud Connect

Google Drive backup folder stores your uploaded workbooks and documents. The Google Sheet can be used as a secondary database backup for user records if required.

Ensure sheet link sharing is set to "Anyone with the link can view".

Direct shortcut to your Google Drive backup folder.
When connected, all member email additions, password changes, and 16-digit passcode will save permanently into your Google Sheet in real time.
How to enable 100% permanent Google Sheet saving in 1 minute:
  1. Open your Google Sheet: Open PCET Database Google Sheet
  2. In the top menu, click Extensions → Apps Script.
  3. Delete any code in the editor and paste the provided Google Apps Script code (available below).
  4. Click Deploy (top right) → New Deployment → Select type Web app.
  5. Set "Who has access" to "Anyone", then click Deploy.
  6. Copy the generated Web app URL (ends in /exec) and paste it into the box above, then click Save URL.
